Rotary Club of Kawerau

Rotary is a worldwide organisation of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. Approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 32,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas.

The Rotary Club of Kawerau was formed in 1960 and the Charter meeting was held on June 10, 1961, with 24 foundation members, meeting twice a month for fellowship and interesting and informative programmes dealing with topics of local and global Interest.

Join us at 5:30pm each 1st and 3rd Wednesday, at Jive Cafe at the lights, Kawerau with the meetings beginning at 6pm. Typically finishing about 7:30pm.

Rotarians plan and carry out a remarkable variety of humanitarian, educational and cultural exchange projects that improve people’s lives at a local and international level.

Rotary in Kawerau provides an opportunity to participate in:

  • Kawerau youth development
  • Supporting community projects
  • Assisting the aged, such as the Mountain View Lifecare Village
  • Supporting student exchange programmes
  • Playing our part in international projects such as eliminating polio
  • Fellowship, meeting and working with new friends
  • Learning from a wide range of interesting topics from visiting speakers
  • Improving your personal and professional networks, and sharing with like-minded colleagues.
